Merit Electric is a Texas-based commercial electrical contractor founded in 1985. What began as a small operation focused on quality workmanship has grown into a statewide team of more than 140 professionals serving commercial and industrial facilities across Texas.
Nearly four decades later, our commitment remains the same: deliver safe, reliable electrical systems with a level of craftsmanship and coordination that clients can depend on.

Who We Are
Merit Electric is a merit-shop electrical contractor and a proud member of both the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) and the Construction Career Collaborative (C3). These partnerships reflect our dedication to training, professionalism, and elevating industry standards across the State of Texas.
Our team includes licensed electricians, designers, fabricators, and project managers who work together to deliver electrical systems built for performance and longevity. We do not use subcontractors — every technician who represents Merit Electric is a full-time employee committed to our values, our clients, and our quality of work.
Our People Make the Difference
At Merit Electric, our reputation has been shaped by people who take pride in their work. Our licensed service technicians complete a rigorous four-year IEC apprenticeship program, accumulating more than 10,000 hours of hands-on training before advancing to journeyman-level responsibilities.
Many of our employees have been with us for over a decade, bringing consistency and institutional knowledge that translates into safer jobsites, better coordination, and long-term client relationships.
